Family and Community

We provide a family atmosphere and prioritize community involvement for our Daughters.

Our homes provide a loving, supportive environment where our Daughters are encouraged to dream big dreams and to do the work required to achieve those dreams.

Whenever possible, our Daughters remain connected to their families and communities. During school breaks, they return to their hill tribe villages to assist with child care and farm work. FTD provides books, blankets, eyeglasses and other necessities to families in need.

Our Daughters’ communities are richer and more vibrant because of their involvement. We have eradicated child trafficking in nearly all of their villages through workshops, engagement and intervention.

Life skills are an essential tool for breaking the cycle of poverty and inequality that leads to vulnerability.

Over the past 15 years, we have witnessed dramatic transformations in the communities where we work simply by breaking the barriers of inequality through education and support to vulnerable girls. Our Daughters thrive when given the opportunity to follow their dreams and determine their own course in life.

We are seeing glimpses of transformation in the communities where we work, simply from breaking the barriers of inequality and dependance that trap vulnerable girls in poverty and giving them the opportunity to follow their dreams and determine their own course in life.

When our Daughters graduate from university, their families and communities welcome them as respected role models, able to provide financial support for younger siblings and older relatives.

The impact of women graduates, passionate about improving their communities, is significant.
